The Prosperous Armenia and Heritage parties are expected to join the process, along with other political forces. A spokesperson for Heritage, Hovsep Khurshudyan has told the "168 Zham" correspondent that they were planning to participate in the elections. The paper notes that the party did not name any candidate for the 2009 Yerevan municipality polls.
Speaking to the paper, a spokesperson of PAP, Tigran Urikhanyan, said the party will very probably run in the elections.
Asked whether their decision not to participate in the presidential polls will not negatively affect the party’s reputation, he said, “I remind everybody that Prosperous Armenia has not participated in any presidential election, but that did not absolutely prevent us from garnering around half a million votes in the parliamentary polls. So this election too, will not prevent us from receiving a larger number of votes,” Urikhanyan said.
