Barcelona forward David Villa admitted to hospital

A report on the Barcelona club website, has revealed that former Valencia man was admitted to hospital to undergo kidney stone treatment. Specifically the treatment is aimed at ridding Villa of a nephritic colic infection.

For the less medical savvy of you, what Villa has is an extremely painful version of kidney stones—not to say kidney stones aren't painful enough. Basically, the Spanish International could've suffered from dehydration brought about by his lack of football in the last few seasons.

In short, the condition is not infectious and despite being exposed to his Barcelona teammates, will not affect them.
