Yesterday National Security Service of Armenia in the result of operative-investigative measures detained a man suspected of extorting large sums of money from the Director of the Yerevan international airport "Zvartnots" Juan Pablo Guechigyan.

The report notes that a citizen of Armenia Karen Simonyan, based on self-interest, from January 21 to February 14, 2013 sent the director of "Zvartnots" e-mails threatening to kill both him and his family and demanding 80 million drams.

According to the press center of the National Security Service, the suspected represented himself as a member of the international terrorist organization, observed conspiracy, attempted cover up, constantly sent emails from online clubs located in different districts of Yerevan.

On February 14 Karen Simonyan was arrested, when he tried to realize his criminal intent. A criminal case was initiated.
