Analyst: "Evacuation of Syrians shows Russia's concern for citizens."
Russia
Russia has airlifted some of its citizens out of Syria in the face of deteriorating conditions.
Voice of Russia's Kim Brown talks with Moscow political observer Dmitri Babich.
Babich says that this move has been heralded as a sign that Russia no longer supports Assad, but he "wouldn't read too much into it".
Babich says that this is also a sign that the Russian government cares about its citizens. The last time Russia airlifted its citizens was in 2006 in Lebanon. Previously, under the Soviet Union, only those with diplomatic importance were offered help leaving war-torn countries.
