Medvedev calls for world economic, financial restructuring
Russia
The shaping of updated and more effective global financial structure is a complicated but feasible objective that all nations of the world should attain through joint effort.
This came in a statement by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with the Cuban mass media.
He said that the classical Bretton Woods currency system, which used the US dollar along with gold for world money, can no longer take account of the interests of all players of the world financial market.
The countries have moved to the forefront that were earlier in no way represented at the international pool in charge of financial decision-making, the Russian Prime Minister said.
He stressed the point that the current financial world order is unfair and calls for major systemic change.
