Putin signs law to ban smoking in public places, tobacco sales in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an anti-tobacco law that bans smoking in public places as of June 2013, the Kremlin’s press service reported on Monday.
It said that a “federal law was adopted with the aim of implementing clauses of the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which was ratified by the Russian Federation in 2008.”
