"Hraparak": Khachatur Sukiasyan- candidate for Yerevan mayor?

Hardly had the presidential election finished when the authorities began discussing municipal elections in Yerevan.

According to "Hraparak", some officials believe that Taron Margaryan is not to hold the post of Yerevan Mayor any more, especially after the disgraceful ballot in the Avan community in the Feb. 18 presidential election.

Another group is strongly against Gagik Beglaryan’s return. Post-election passions are still running high in Armenia, and an alternative candidate – one acceptable to both the authorities and the opposition – is on the agenda. According to paper, some believe Khachatur Sukiasyan to be such a candidate. Although inactive for a long period, he is a good businessman and is acceptable to both the new fledged opposition and business circles.
