4 die in school stampede in China

At least four people have died in a stampede outside the doors of an elementary school in China; many others have been injured, according to the local media.

The incident occurred in the city of Laohekou, in the central province of Hubei, on the first school day following a long vacation on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

Rescue teams have since been working on the site of the accident, RIA reports.
