US scientist unveils ‘invisibility box’ (video)

A small device with the invisibility cloak effect has been unveiled at a US tech conference. The device resembles a small box and can cause objects behind it to mysteriously “disappear.”
Dr. Baile Zhang, an assistant professor of physics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, said the ищч bent light around the object with the help of two pieces of calcite and a carbonate mineral.
The 31-year-old said he invented the “invisibility box” for fun and is now working on creating a much larger version. His hobby quickly became known as a technological breakthrough.
