World
A collection of black and white photos of Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara is up for auction in London.
The assessed value of 55 snapshots taken between 1950 and 1960 is $76,000.
All lots were provided by the daughter of Alberto Korda, Castro’s personal photographer.
The photos depict Che Guevara talking to philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, Castro taking a Polaroid picture of the family of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev, and Castro at the top of a hill with a gun slung over his shoulder.
The latter is the most valuable item in the collection.
