Armenian Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan visited on Thursday Armenia’s Aragatsotn Region to get acquainted with farmers activities included in consumers cooperative.

World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Asad Alam, Country Manager of the World Bank Armenia Jean-Michel Happi accompanied the Minister.

The loan project aims to support high mountainous communities and communities close to the state border, which mainly deal with cattle-breeding. The state aims to increase income of farmers, Karapetyan added.

Asad said that the project proved its usefulness in many states. Besides, its success depends on the farmers and their joint work, he concluded.
