Head of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I was re-elected President of Middle East Council of Churches. A holy mass by Greek churches marked the opening of this year's event in Cyprus.
Aram I presented the council’s work over the past four years at a conference, which is convened every four years. His Holiness also touched upon political problems of the Middle East and their negative consequences. He noted that, despite all the difficulties, the council will continue its mission and will become a structure expressing unified posture and position of the Middle East Churches.
