Over 30 children hurt in incident at sports complex, Kosovo

32 schoolchildren were injured on Friday in an incident at a sports complex in the city of Pec in western Kosovo.

According to local police, as the children were entering the building, the metal railing of the stairwell collapsed under the combined weight of the youngsters. The children fell to the ground from a height of several meters.

They had been ascending the stands to watch a charity concert organized to raise funds for a girl with leukemia from a neighboring municipality.

Most suffered minor injuries; six people were hospitalized. The condition of one of the youngsters is serious. Police are investigating, Voice of Russia reports.
