Valdés blasts ref: "You should be ashamed"
Sport
FC Barcelona keeper Víctor Valdés was sent off at the end of the Real Madrid-Barcelona game for confronting ref Miguel Ángel Pérez Lasa and shouting in his face, "You should be ashamed of yourself", as reflected in the official match report by the referee.
"Once the game had finished and while we were still on the field of play, I booked FC Barcelona player No. 1 Victor Valdés Arribas for addressing me with his arms raised and shouting at me in protest at one of my decisions. I then sent off this same player for confronting me just a few centimetres from my face and repeatedly shouting, 'You screwed up, you should be ashamed of yourself,'" wrote Pérez Lasa in the match report.
"After I sent off the player, he continued in this vein and in the same manner repeatedly said, 'You should be ashamed of yourself,' and he had to be held back by his teammates and his team's steward", he added.
