Protests staged by thousands of angry Berliners have forced the authorities to suspend a construction project which would have led to the demolition of the surviving section of the Cold-War-era Berlin Wall.
The city government will revisit the issue at a meeting on March 18.
What remains of the Berlin Wall is now a graffiti display and a great tourist attraction.
