200 million poultry farm chickens are being vaccinated against bird flu in 12 states of Mexico as part a campaign to fight the disease.
Earlier, the H7N3 virus was detected in three million chickens in Jalisco and Guanajuato states.
The chickens were subsequently culled.
The Mexican government has been taking urgent measures since February to avoid last year’s bird flu outbreak, when over 30 million chickens had to be slaughtered, RBC reports.
