Latin American leaders offer condolences on Chavez’s death

The Latin American leaders have offered condolences to the people and leadership of Venezuela on Hugo Chavez’s death.

President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, a friend and close associate of the late Venezuelan leader, paid last respects to Chavez together with thousands of Nicaraguans in the capital city Managua.

President Rafael Correa of Ecuador has declared three days of national mourning.

President Ollanta Humala of Peru has said he will go to Caracas to attend Chavez’s funeral on Friday.
