Thousands of flights cancelled in U.S. due to snow

Nearly a thousand flights were canceled on Wednesday along the U.S. East Coast because of approaching heavy snowfall.

In the coming hours up to 20 centimeters of snow may fall with forecasters recommending that residents to stock up on water, flashlights, and not to use private transport.

Due to the build-up of snow, the region could face large-scale power outages.

Recently a similar storm struck the northern states causing hundreds of flights to be canceled at airports in Chicago and Minneapolis,TASS reports.
