Hangzhou Mayor dies during NPC session

The Mayor of the Chinese city Hangzhou, Shao Zhanwei, died of a heart attack during the ongoing session of the Chinese Parliament in Beijing earlier this Wednesday.

Shao Zhanwei was born in 1956 and was appointed as the head of Hangzhou, one of China’s biggest cities and the administrative centre of the prospering Zhejiang Province, two years ago.

Hangzhou is often referred to as a Garden of Eden, it is quite popular with foreign, including Russian, tourists, Interfax reports.
