A few days after the presidential elections in Armenia Governor of Shirak region Ashot Giziryan submitted his resignation, which was approved by the Government of Armenia. Ashot Giziryan's resignation many associated with a small number of votes received in favor of Serzh Sargsyan.  office of  the Governor of Shirak is still vacant. According to "168 Hours", RA Police former head of the Shirak regional department Aram Ter-Tovmasyan's issue is being discussed.
