U.S. President Barack Obama and 12 Republican senators dined together yesterday night and Obama paid for the dinner out of his own pocket.
“The president paid the bill,” the White House said in a statement.
No further details were disclosed. White House sources, speaking on conditions of anonymity ahead of the dinner, told reporters that the key dinner topic would be how to minimize the impact of the sequester, BBC reports.
