North Korea warns of pre-emptive strike

North Korea has warned it reserves the right for a pre-emptive strike, the state-run KCNA news agency reports.
This warning has topped the pile of threats that have recently been traded between Pyongyang and Seoul as the Korean standoff keeps escalating.
On Tuesday, the North vowed to scrap the 1953 war truce with the South, should it go on with its military drills together with the US.
Pyongyang’s threat prompted Seoul to declare Wednesday it wouldn’t wince from striking against the North if the latter proves to have hostile intentions.
In response, North Korea sped up its preparations ahead of full-scale military exercises that may run off simultaneously with the annual US-Korea war games.
