US, Russia voted down on limiting Polar bear exports

A proposal on the commercial trade of polar bear parts flopped at the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species.
Another Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) took place in Bangkok, Thailand this week. US and Russia worked on a joint proposal that would prohibit countries from exporting polar bear parts, but it was voted down by more than a half of CITES members. The next vote will take place in 2016.
