Russian art expo opens in Brussels

Almost 50 paintings by the founding father of Russian abstractionism Vassily Kandinsky go on display today at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels.
Visitors will also have a chance to enjoy works other world-acclaimed Russian painters like Mikhail Larionov, Natalya Goncharova, Kazimir Malevich, Nikolai Roerich, Mikhail Vrubel and Ivan Bilibin.
Most of the paintings are on lease from Russian museums and also from a Paris-based museum of fine arts and private collections. The Kandinsky and Russia exhibition runs until June 30.
