Opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) turns an open letter to Armenia`s Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan regarding the Savings bank deposits of citizens during the Soviet Union.
“ANC’s 100 steps project states that the citizens should get compensation for their deposits in the Savings bank.
Based on Freedom of Information act, ANC would like to obtain the following information on:
1. Measures on the implementation of the former Soviet Union domestic debt service on the principles and mechanisms of CIS agreement on May 13, 1992.
2. Number of depositors of former Soviet Union Savings Bank and their overall money amount deposited by January 01, 1993.
3. Implementation process of March 16, 2006, governmental decision regarding the implementation for deposit compensation order by June 10, 1993, by the former Soviet Union Savings Bank at the republican bank.
4. Measures on number and payment of certificates with the amount of RUR 1,000 till 01 January, 1993 by former Soviet Union Savings Bank issued by the republican bank.
5. Number of insured people in the former Soviet Union state insurance system, the amount of insurance premiums, overall money returned respectively till 01 January, 1993,” the statement by the ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan reads.
