Anonymous benefactor donates apartment to homeless family in Gyumri city of Armenia.

The family of Arpenik Ghazaryan, 40, mother of two children, in Armenia’s Gyumri city, who was deprived of any social benefits, was donated an apartment from an anonymous benefactor.    

And on Thursday, Arpenik went to the city’s cadastre department to conduct the privatization procedure for the one-room apartment, which was donated to her by a compatriot living abroad.

To note, the family of Arpenik Ghazaryan has received no social benefits for already four months, and without any reason. The woman has sent her daughter Sona, 14, to an orphanage and now lives with her 1.5-year-old baby in a tumble-down hut. Arpenik had turned to the "Shirak Center" and asked them to visit her home. And when the Center representatives arrived, she was alone with her baby. Moreover, she had no electricity for several days, the outside temperature was -10°C, and even the oven was not turned on. In general, Arpenik’s older child returned home from the orphanage on the weekends, but Arpenik could not go and bring her daughter because she had no money for the transport. Both children are not included in the list of Gyumri City Hall, or of any international or philanthropic organization.
