Real Madrid assistant manager Aitor Karanka spoke at the press conference ahead of the match against Celta in Vigo, admitting that some players will be sitting the fixture out.

"Sergio, Varane and Coentrao have earned a rest", he said. Karanka also praised Pepe: "he is an extremely important player for us, both now and in the future, but he is recovering from injury. If there is anyone who has helped Varane to become what he is, then that person is Pepe", he went on.

Karanka also said that the team for Sunday will be a reliable one. "We have always picked our teams with a view to winning, and the team that goes out onto the field tomorrow will be top-drawer".
