Several young men attacked photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan while he was shooting a big car accident.

Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan was beaten and he subsequently received injuries at the scene of a car accident, in the Armenian capital Yerevan, on Thursday.  

The police detained three young men.

Showing marked disrespect toward the citizens who had gathered at the scene of the accident, these young men breached public order, and cursed, tugged, and struck blows at photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, who was carrying out his professional duties there, thereby causing him physical injuries. 

A forensic medical examination is commissioned, and an investigation is launched.
