Armenian capital Yerevan’s City Hall will formally start the capital’s New Year celebrations on December 20 at 8 p.m., at the Republic Square, City Hall’s Culture Department Chief Kamo Movsisyan stated during a press conference on Thursday.
He also informed that this year’s celebrations will differ from the previous year’s, both in terms of content and capacity. “There will be a 3D show, concerts, and fireworks,” he added.
The celebration events at the Republic Square will also continue on December 31, January 6 (Armenian Christmas), and January 13 (Old Armenian New Year). Celebrations will also be held at the Liberty Square, Charles Aznavour Square, and Northern Avenue.
Also, the City Hall will distribute free presents and performance tickets to nearly 3.000 children from poor families.
Kamo Movsisyan also added, “The main amount will come from advertisements and the private sector. But the City Hall will pitch in, too.”
