France, Belgium, Germany battle snow

The ‘orange’ security alert level has been issued for 26 northern and eastern regions of France in connection with heavy snow, which has also crippled traffic in Belgium and Germany.

Snow and ice has paralyzed traffic in many areas of France and Belgium, where snow has reached 20 centimeters.

Bad weather has caused 350-kilometer-long jams on autobahns in Germany and has disrupted bus and suburban train schedules.

Forecasters say the weather in Europe will return to normal by the weekend, TASS reports.
