Cristiano suffers a sugar low in Vigo
Sport
Cristiano Ronaldo had to take a glucose tablet during the second half of the game at Balaídos in an attempt to inject some much-needed energy into his muscles and brain.
It was towards the end of the match when the Portuguese started to feel weak. He approached the bench and was given the tablet which helped him see out the rest of the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo played the game against Celta having not fully recovered from a bout of flu. He spent the two days after the game at Old Trafford in bed. He didn't even train on Thursday, but he didn't pass up the chance to travel to Vigo and help his team, although he did so with his defences low.
The medicines he was taking for his fever, cold and bad cough had left him in poor shape. He decided to play and as the game progressed, he let Mourinho and the team doctor know how he was feeling.
