Open Letter to Serje Tankian

Hello, dear Serje,
Being concerned about the future of your homeland and compatriots, a few weeks ago, in your open letter to Serge Sargsyan you raised questions and as expected didn’t receive any clear answers. Your questions could not be answered by a person who came to power over the slaughter of March 1, 2008 and the blood of our 10 compatriots; a person who for 5 years promised to fight against the oligarchic system and monopolies but at the same time is himself one of the leading oligarchs with his brother; a person who within 5 years of his governance only once replied to an open letter addressed to him – your letter. And he probably replied to your letter because you are one of our rarest world-famous compatriot artists who is not embarrassed to criticize and to address questions to Serge’s grandfather Serge.
One may wonder why I write this letter to you. The answer is quite obvious – I want Armenia to be a country where every single young family from the very first day of their marriage is confident that their child will live in a safe and secure country.
I want every parent from the very first day of sending his/her child to school to be sure that his child will leave it with a big store of knowledge and without any additional private tutoring (which strangely enough is a must in our country) will be able to enter the University that he/she prefers.
I want every fellow from the very first day of entering the University to be sure that after graduation he will find a job in his country and the intervention of acquaintances and relatives in that matter is not necessary. I want every single person from the very first day of his work to be sure that after retiring he will live commensurate with the deeds and achievements of his lifetime and will be compensated for the hard work done during the long years.
I simply want Free and Happy Armenia, as you do.
But you, me, we cannot achieve this alone, separately. We can achieve it only jointly by helping each other, by taking care of each other. Some people will say it’s impossible, what I say is that It is Possible, if there is a wish It is Possible. Thus, on April 9 I invite you to the Republic Square to see the real Armenia, where the person who has seized the power is going to hold the inauguration ceremony among his close friends. And the President elected by the people will hold the inauguration ceremony before the citizens who have given him the vote of trust.
Come and witness it, come and establish Free and Happy Armenia together with us. I will wait for you in the Republic Square.
With Best Wishes
RA citizen Vilen Gabrielyan
