Turkish soldier kills two infantry officers in Hatay.

Cpl. Adem Aydemir, for reasons that have not yet been disclosed, reportedly opened fire on and severely injured Lt. Mehmet Soyuer and non-commissioned officer Özkan Kurtoğlu at the Third Border Command’s Kızılçat border outpost. Soyuer and Kurtoğlu died on their way to Antakya State Hospital. Aydemir was detained with the gun that had been used in the incident. The bodies of the two officers were taken to the Hatay airport by ambulance for funerals in their hometowns. Soyuer is from Tekirdağ’s Çorlu district, and Kurtoğlu’s hometown is Elazığ. The Hatay Governor’s Office, in a written statement released on Saturday, said the military prosecutor’s office had launched a judicial and administrative investigation into the incident, "Hurriyet" reported.
