FIDE Candidates' Tournament kicks off today

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov officially opened the FIDE Candidates' Tournament on Thursday night during the opening ceremony held at the IET London, Savoy Place.
The tournament’s opening ceremony was attended by chess officials, sponsors, and international chess media.
The first round starts on Friday at 17:00. Levon Aronian will play with white pieces against Magnus Carlsen. Gelfand, Ivanchuk and Svidler will respectively play against Rajabov, Grishchuk and Kramnik.
