Toyota Motor Inc. is recalling about 209,000 FJ Cruiser SUVs because of a problem involving seat belt retractors, news reports said on Saturday.
Toyota said that the driver and front passenger seatbelts are mounted in the rear doors of the vehicle. Due to insufficient strength of the rear door panel, cracks may develop over an extended period of time if the rear door is forcefully closed.
The automaker said that it has received no reports of injuries related to the defect, which involves the 2007 through 2013 model year SUVs, TASS reports.
