Oppositional politician was kidnapped in Zimbabwe

On March 16 in Zimbabwe 4 unknown people kidnapped the regional head of “Movement for Democratic Change” party Samson Magumura, citing “France-Presse” informed “lenta.ru”.

He was kidnapped on Sunday from his house in Hendlands village. The armed people took him in unknown direction. There is no information about his whereabouts. On the “Facebook” page of the party it is said that the kidnappers also took the mobile phone of his wife, so that she was not able to call for help.

The press-secretary of the party said that the President Robert Mutabe’s political party “Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front” could be involved in the kidnapping.

Several days ago an assassination attempt was made on the high ranking representative of the party. Several bottles of “Molotov cocktail” were thrown into his house. The politician was hospitalized.
