Venezuela’s Maduro accuses US of plotting to kill opposition’s Capriles

Venezuela’s acting president Nicolas Maduro has accused US special forces of plotting to assassin opposition leader Henrique Capriles in an attempt to trigger a coup d’état.

In an interview to the local Televen channel, Nicolas Maduro said Washington was planning to kill Capriles and shift the blame on the Venezuelan government to “create chaos” in the country.

Mr. Maduro said the CIA, Pentagon and several former US diplomats were behind the plot, Interfax reports.
