Bad weather prevents rescuers from searching for missing tourists on Mount Elbrus

The search for two tourists from Poland and Iran missing in the region of Mount Elbrus has been suspended due to heavy snowfall, a Russian Emergencies Ministry spokesman said on Monday.Mount Elbrus

He added that late last week, rescuers conducted a thorough search of all huts and shelters around Pastukhov rocks.

Two backpacks were discovered at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level, confirming the rescuers were on the right track.

Information about the disappearance of tourists Pavel Gostinsky and Ali-Atabi Cirelli was dispatched to the Elbrus search and rescue team on March 15 by the Polish embassy in Moscow, IF reports.
