Armenia’s precious metals will be entrusted to Economy Ministry.

The Government of Armenia decided Thursday that, instead of the country’s Finance Ministry, now its Economy Ministry must become the authorized body to manage Armenia’s precious metal sector.  

And this means, from now on capital Yerevan’s gold markets will have a new control agency, in the form of the Economy Ministry. 

According to the rationale which the Finance Ministry introduced, study of the international track record shows it is more convenient that conducting policy in the precious metal sector be reserved to the Ministry of Economy.
