Armenian Press
The newspaper writes, "Yesterday RA Syunik Region`s Qajaran village head Rafik Atayan submitted his own resignation against his will. During the interview with the daily he said that he was suppressed by the local authorities, as well as Zangezur copper plant management. "The reason was that the contract should have been signed of handing the village territory to Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZPMC), and I did not sign. As a result of which they exerted pressure on me to sign the contract. What to do if not resign? Otherwise one day they will catch and kill me. Say, what to do? If you are forced either to sign the contract or resign, what will you do?" said Mr. Atayan."
