Sentenced to fine for election crime

Ararat and Vayots Dzor court of first instance, presided by Judge Rubik Mkhitaryan, announced the resident of Norashen village of Ararat Marz Hermine Tarverdyan guilty in voting for another person during the last presidential elections and sentence her to fine of 500 000 AMD․
The case was heard in the expedited procedure.
H.Mkhitaryan is charged with Article 34-153 of RA Criminal code- voting for more than once or voting for another person.
According to indictment, on February 18, 2013, during the presidential elections, at 17/31 polling station located in Norashen village of Ararat Marz, at 17:00 she took the passport of the resident of the same village Zhaneta Geghamyan without the notice of the former, entered the polling station with her personal details, informed the member of the commission Artsrun Boyakhchyan that she had already been registered in the list, received a ballot and an envelope from him, and after doing an appropriate notice tried to vote for Zhaneta Geghamyan by throwing the envelope into the box, but didn’t manage to finish it, because her actions were stopped by the members of the election commission.
