The "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund U.S. Eastern Region is building a hospital in Martuni city of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The construction of the hospital is co-funded by the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund U.S. Eastern Region, the Armenian Doctors' Foundation and the NKR government.
The current municipal hospital was built in 1965 and it can no longer provide proper medical assistance. The new two-story hospital will ensure modern conditions for medical services.
The new hospital will be 2,470 square meters. The basement and the first floor have been built, and construction of the second floor is underway. According to the hospital's chief doctor Grisha Gasparyan, the hospital can serve nearly 1,000 regular and 1,400 ambulatory patients on a yearly basis. Twenty three patients can also receive regular treatment here. The hospital will also serve the residents of the nearby villages.
