Turkish nationalists’ meeting was accompanied with Charles Aznavour’s song.

Turkish Posta daily’s columnist Hakan Celik witnessed to something interesting during the traditional meeting between the leaders of Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and news reporters.    

The Turkish journalist noted that, during the meeting held in Ankara’s Sheraton Hotel with seventy members of the press, renowned Armenian singer Charles Aznavour’s “Hier Encore” (“Only Yesterday”) was played as background music.

“Had the nationalists realized this, they would have been very concerned, since the Armenian artist is known for his politicized stance,” the Turkish journalist noted, in view of Aznavour’s statements in regard to recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
