Central China battered by cyclone

A powerful cyclone battering central China is known to have left at least 9 people dead and 470 injured.

More than 74,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.

The cyclone has also damaged about 100,000 houses, leaving some 2,000 completely destroyed.

The damage has been estimated at $57.5mln.
