Venezuela’s acting president Nicolas Maduro said on Sunday he had been invited by Russian president Vladimir Putin to take part in a meeting by leaders of gas exporting countries, slated to be held in Moscow on July 1-2.
The summit will focus on closer cooperation in the gas industry and global energy problems.
Maduro and opposition leader, Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles, are the main candidates in the early presidential elections due on April 14.
