Lithuania is planning to install a gigantic statue symbolizing the ‘Like’ button used on Facebook.
According to Delfi.lt, in this way local officials hope to raise the country’s attraction in the eyes of social network users. The State Department of Tourism reports that the statue of the popular symbol will be the largest in the Universe.
The site for the statue will be determined by voting on social networks. So far, four cities have expressed a wish to host the statue: Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga and Druskininkai. The latter suggests placing it in the middle of a lake.
The campaign of selecting the best project will last for 12 months and is meant for Russia, Poland and Germany.
Facebook users use the ’Like’ button to mark some materials that they like. It looks like a hand with the thumb pointing up, Lenta.ru reports.
