Mubarak may go free
Middle East
Deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak might be released from prison in the middle of April if he is not found guilty on other charges brought against him. Minister of Justice Ahmed Mekky said.
Last year a court in Cairo sentenced the ex-president to life imprisonment on charges of killing 850 people during mass protests in the course of the revolution over two years ago when Mubarak ordered to suppress the protests.
In January the court decided to reconsider its verdict. New hearings of Mubarak’s case have been appointed for April, Interfax reports.
