6.2 magnitude earthquake near Guatemala City

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Guatemala on Monday. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter was located about 10 kilometers from the capital. There has not been any information on possible destruction or casualties.
In November 2012, 7.2 magnitude tremors resulted in the death of 44 people in Guatemala; 3.4 million people sustained material losses. At the time, 11 out of 22 departments of the country were affected.
