Ahmet Davutoglu: Armenian Genocide denial bill will hazard freedom of speech in France.
Turkey
Hurriyet Daily News - The adoption of the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide would pose serious hazards to freedom of speech in France, Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu has said.
Speaking at the session of the observers group tasked with implementing reforms, Davutoglu called for the Turkish society's efforts to protest the initiative.
"It is first of all the Turkish society that has to protest against those seeking to restrict freedom of speech. The civil society has to take appropriate measure. The French society is facing the society not the Senate. The existence of such law in the heart of Europe would return it to the Middle Ages," he said.
