Part of Berlin Wall dismantled despite protests

The dismantling of part of the “Cold War-era” Berlin Wall will continue in the German capital.

Several panels of the surviving section of the former concrete wall, now the world’s largest open-air art gallery, were removed at dawn on Wednesday to make way for an elite apartment block amid. The panels were torn down amid a heavy police presence despite demands by protesters to keep the Wall untouched.
